Panie Przodem – Czym dla Ciebie jest biżuteria?

Natalia Milosz-Piekarska – To ciężkie pytanie, gdyż biżuterię postrzegam na różnych poziomach. Interesuję się antropologią i historią biżuterii, używanych w niej materiałów. Ciekawi mnie również czysty wygląd – sposób współdziałania z człowiekiem i zmian na jego ciele, ale także zachowanie sie przedmiotu poza ciałem. Biżuteria ma wiele rodzajów i wiele znaczeń, i mnie wiele z nich interesuje. Ale zdaje mi się, że biżuteria, którą sama wykonuję, skupia sie na estetyce i materiale, na poszukiwnaniu rzeczy nadających się do noszenia i jednocześnie opowiadających pewne historie.

PP – Czyją biżuterię lubisz?

N.M.-P. – Nie mam jednej ulubionej. Muszę przyznać, iż żródła, z których czerpię inspiracje, nie są stricte biżuteryjne. Poszukuję ich m.in. w sztuce ludowej, ale także ogólnie pojmując sztukę.

PP – Wyobraż sobie niekończące się źródło finansowe do Twojej dyspozycji – z jakich materiałów byś chciała wykonać biżuterię?

N.M.-P. – Myślę, że gdybym miała więcej czasu i pieniędzy, chciałabym wypróbować jak największą ilość tworzyw. Tworzywa są dla mnie wizualnym słownictwem – im większą masz wiedzę i zdolności, tym twoha komunikacja jest bogatsza. Używam materiałów, które najlepiej wyrażają opowieść, jaką chcę przekazać.

Panie Przodem – What does jewellery mean for you?

Natalia Milosz-Piekarska – That's a though question, i view jewellery on many levels. I'm interested in the anthropology and cultural history or jewellery and the materials used. I am also attracted to the the pure visuals, the way it interacts and changes on the body as opposed to it's life off the body. Jewellery has so many genres and meanings. I'm interested in it's significance in all aspects, but i guess, the kind of jewellery i deal with personally, i think i focus on the aesthetic and materials and research to create wearable pieces that can communicate and tell stories.

PP – Who (a jewellery designer) do you admire most?

N.M.-P. – I don't have one jewellery that i admire most. I have to say most of my influences aren't strictly jewellery based. I research a lot on folk craft, historical/cultural adornment, and more generally, art movements, artists and deisngers. I have a graphic design background, so i am a very visual person all round.

PP – Imagine you had an undefined financial support:) - which material would
you like to use in your jewellery?

N.M.-P. – Material? I think if i had the time and money i would spend it researching as many materials as possible. Materials i find are a visual vocabulary for me, the broader your knowledge and ability to use them, the richer your communication. I use materials that i best feel express the story i'm trying to tell.
